VISION
The smell of salt water. A distinctively relaxed rhythm. Byron Bay has a unique feeling. We designed a premium hotel experience that felt quintessentially Byron, where luxury meant walking barefoot from beach to bar. A space capturing Byron's essence: coastal, relaxed, and quietly refined.
“Inspired by the captivating elements of the nearby beach and ocean, our colour palette gracefully reflects the warmth of sand and the vibrant allure of aqua hues... creating an oasis-like interior and remarkably sensitive architecture.”

SOLUTION
Tucked just behind Byron Beach and Lawson Street, the site connects seamlessly to local icons. From the surf at Wategos to the boutiques of Jonson Street, here you can feel at the centre of it all, without ever feeling crowded.
At the heart of the design, a stunning light-filled atrium creates a moment of calm, offering cool respite at the centre of the building. Overflowing with sub-tropical planting, the concept also leans into beautiful natural materials: travertine, brass, and weathered bronze. All evoking the coastal lifestyle in the hues of sand, sea, and warm light.
Moving up onto the hotel rooftop, an uninterrupted view of the beach provides the perfect place to relax for an afternoon aperitivo. In many ways, it sums up the design approach. This isn’t about designing something new, it’s about showcasing what is already there. A place that feels as easy, natural, and quietly special as Byron itself.
